Hideo Kojima has finally confirmed Metal Gear Solid 5 directly. As everyone hoped he would do at every interview Kojima’s had since he posted that job listing for the game. Kojima didn’t so much about the game, other than the fact that it’ll be using the studio’s in-house FOX engine. He also confirmed that the game will feature the original sneaking aspect of Metal Gear Solid.
“About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be more infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to do you ‘a favor’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid,” he told IG Magazine. Going on to state that, he “liked the idea of social interactions in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.” Kojima also commented about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and some of confusion behind it.
“Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance never pretended to be Metal Gear Solid. It’s not a game about our beloved Solid Snake. It’s a spin-off that tries something different. We haven’t seen the last of Solid Snake, despite the fact that I wanted to let him die at the end of Guns of the Patriots.”
