Uncharted Leaping On to PSN on June 26th

Sony has announced that the first two games of the Uncharted series will be making their way on to PlayStation Network. Starting on June 26th, both Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Game of the Year Edition will be available for digital download onto your PlayStation 3. In celebration of this announcement, Sony has also announced that all existing Uncharted 2 DLC will be available for free to download worldwide. Pricing has yet to be confirmed but hopefully, with the transportation and physical media manufacturing cost out of the equation, Sony will at least consider offering it a little cheaper than in stores. For those of you curious about the sizes of both, PlayStation Associate Product Marketing Manager,  Mick Perona said in a comment, that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune will be approximately 18.5GB while Uncharted: Among Thieves will weigh approximately 20.5GB.

Mass Effect 3 Available on PSN At Launch

PlayStation 3 Gamers will be able to buy Mass Effect 3 digitally off of PlayStation Network on March 6, the same day the game launches in stores. Players will also be able to preorder the game off of PSN starting today. As an added bonus, players also get DLC,  the M55 Argus rifle. As an added bonus, players who preordered the game off of PSN will also get a special Mass Effect 3 XMB theme for their PS3.

PS3 Firmware 3.70 Brings Online Saves and Trophy Sync

A recent blog post on Sony’s PlayStation blog has revealed that PS3 Firmware 3.70 will be coming “soon”. Notable features for PlayStation Plus Subscribers, the ability to backup your game save files online automatically. Subscribers will be asked if they want to enable this when playing a go for the the first time and can enable it later on from the XMB if they choose. Plus Members also get the feature of getting their trophies automatically synced to their online profile. Other notable features that are also available for regular users include the ability to recommend PSN Content to friends, new TV/Video section in the XMB and a few tweaks to extend the capability of 3D Blu-Ray Movies. This might be one update to look forward to try out since the PSN Outage.

PSN Store Finally Back in Japan

After being offline for almost three months (since April 20), Japan finally has their PlayStation Network Store back online. North America and Europe had their PSN restored more than a month ago. One reason why this took so long for Japan was that their Ministry of Economy and Trade demanded that more security measures were taken by Sony before it was bought back in Japan.

PlayStation Store Finally Back Up In North America

Sony has finally restored the PlayStation Store. Not only is the Store back up, the store has now been updated with new content include new Games, Add-Ons, Themes and Demoes. Sony has also announced in it’s Press Release on its blog that the PlayStation Network should finally be fully restored by today. Sony also says that a new update will be available on June 3rd.

Sony Releases PS3 Update To Prep Users For PSN Restoration

Sony has just released a new firmware update (Version 3.61) to prepare users for once the Playstation Network is restored. Sony of America VP, Eric Rempel, posts on the official PlayStation blog, that your PlayStation Network password can only be changed on a PlayStation 3 that was used to activate your account.

Sony Europe Plans To Pay Back PSN Users with Free Games!

We know that Sony owes its PlayStation Network users big time for their servers being hacked and leaking users’ personal information and credit card information. PSN servers have been done since April 20th but are expected to return by the end of this week. Sony America users will getting, at least, complementary identify theft protection for a year but the question is, what will European uses be getting?
