Super Mario 3D Land Includes New 3DS Firmware Update

By now, 3DS Owners in Japan will have gotten their hands on Super Mario 3D Land and it seems that some users have reported that the game comes with a new firmware update. This update doesn’t seem to be the one slated for November 4, it’s indeed a different one. This update adds a single button to the friend list which allows you to join your friend’s games in progress. The update also blocks flashcarts, a device known for opening doors of piracy on handhelds. The game requires you to install the update before you can play it. No news on the version number or if the game will ship with the USA and European versions of the game.
